My family always travels for thanksgiving, and this time it was worth it. The food was incredibly good. WE had lots of casseroles, sweet potatoes, turkey & ham(I didn’t eat any though, I’m vegetarian). The dessert was the best part though.
<–All the deserts we had: brownies, apple pie, pumpkin pie, key lime pie, and pumpkin bread.:)

Ok, today’s rant is about how I plan on launching a .com using my own server running Ubuntu Server. Apparently, at first boot, you have a fully configured LAMP server. I don’t know how true this is, but I’m willing to try. The ISO image is about a 700mb download. It takes about 1 hour on a broadband connection to download it. I’ve also heard that Ubuntu Server starts without a GUI. That is easily fixable though. All you have to do is :
sudo apt-get install ubuntu-desktop
to install a GUI. I can’t wait to install my new server.

I’m quite sure that no one will read this, but I’m going to post it anyway. I love to play guitar. I have a Gibson SG ’61 Reissue guitar, a 50 watt peavey classic amp, and my favorite strings are the coated elixirs. I play mostly rock and metal, but can play in other styles. My dad also plays, he has played for about 30-35 years. I’m still better than him though :). My favorite band is Pink Floyd, and I love to try and play their music. Some of it is challenging, but most of it is pretty easy. That isn’t the point though. Making music that is hard to play takes second seat to music that just sounds good. That is normally the case with Pink Floyd. I’ve been in a couple bands, but none of them ever went far. Who ever gets far making music anyway? It’s just a select few that make it in the music business, and there are lots that try. One thing I hate about talking to people about guitar is the fact that they ALWAYS bring the video game Guitar Hero into the conversation. I can’t stand that. Those people should learn to play a real instrument. They always say, “I play Guitar Hero, so I know how to play guitar!”. South Park had it right when they said, “You Are Fags!!!” to people that play Guitar Hero. I just ran out of stuff to write, so subscribe to my feed because next time I talk about my feelings on religion!

I love art. Whether its Music, Pictures, or any other creative expression, I love it. My Art is visual, but also I write music. When I make my visual art, I use several computer programs: blender, gimp, and photoshop. My music is somewhat spontaneous but my visuals can be either structured or random. Ok, this is a GOOD subject. My high school is Laney. I’m not quite sure how to describe it, but I guess I’ll give it a go: It sucks. Especially if you stand out from the crowd in ANY way. Most of the teachers are incompetent, I don’t even know WHY they would want to become teachers in the first place. If you hate children, Why the hell do you want to teach them 5 days a week, for the rest of your life? People make no sense…….I don’t understand how most people are so ignorant, but then again, I’m not most people. Oh, and another thing, WHY DO WE NEED TO KNOW ALGEBRA???? It has almost no practical application, (other than engineering) so why do we have to be proficient in it? It is even worse when the teacher has no fucking idea of what she/he is teaching. Sometimes they won’t even explain why you are supposed to get an answer. God I hate school……………..

I’m just getting ready for thanksgiving, and it takes a lot of preparation. First, you have to get in the correct mindset(don’t argue with the super right wings about politics). Second, you have to endure the grueling trip to some far-off relatives that bug you night and day. Then, you have to make smalltalk to all the in-laws and other relatives pretending that everything they say is interesting. Finally, you have to eat weird food until you explode, ruining this fascinating holiday. Ugh…..I’m sick of it already.

Not all operating systems are created equal. Most people are accustomed to Windows operating systems. I discovered a new operating system last year called Ubuntu , that is simply AMAZING. Ubuntu is a Linux distribution, which means it is free of charge, and free legally to change and redisribute. It is my favorite operating system. One of the main reasons it is my favorite is it’s lack of virii. That’s right, Ubuntu doesn’t get virii. You can also run most of your Windows programs on Ubuntu by using a program called Wine. I would really recommend that you try it out.

The character in a book that I can connect to the most is Sam from the Sabriel trilogy. He is sometimes doubtful of his abilities, but can really perform when needed. He also doesn’t take himself seriously. I think that this is one of the best series ever written(yes, even better than Harry Potter).
