Rosario + Vampire

Cover of first volume.
I just found a new manga that I like A LOT. It is called Rosario + Vampire, and while it does kinda follow a set path storywise, it is still a great manga. I found it about 2 weeks ago, when I got a new Shonen Jump, and it had a preview of it. I instantly fell in love with this manga, the style of the writing and the action are just perfect. After reading that short synopsis, I craved more. I quickly google’d it and found a website with lots of different manga translated into english by other fans :D

Of course, this means the translations are not quite as good as they could be, but they are still good enough to completely understand what’s going on in the story. I’ll put a link to this site at the end of this post.

Rosario + Vampire starts out with a rising high school freshman named Tsukune Aono, the perfect example of an average student. He has straight C’s in all his classes, and barely made it into high school. His parents find a flyer that a monk dropped somewhere about a high school with no entrance exams. They sign Tsukune up, and the adventure begins.

Onemanga, the website, has great scans of all the pages of lots of different manga, from the newer ones like Rosario + Vampire, to the classics like Dragon Ball

Advantages and Disadvantages of Flickr

First off, I would like to start with the fact that I think Flickr is a great service, it just needs some improvements.
Advantages

  1. Basic account is free.
  2. Cool social sort-of-thing
  3. Lots of websites support Flickr integration
  4. Lots of cool features, like geotagging, what model of camera took a photo, and more of the like.
  5. Uses Creative Commons licensing

Disadvantages

  1. Only 100 megabytes a month for a free account.
  2. Videos are only for paying members.
  3. Subject to being taken down for “questionable content”.
  4. The developers didn’t know how to spell “Flicker”.

Really, the advantages outweigh the disadvantages(there were a lot more advantages to list, I just wanted to rant about the bad stuff:P).

Flickr really is a good service, and I think because of that, everyone should try it(100 megs per month is pretty good for a part-time blogger like myself :D ).
